Why The Glorious Table?

The table is a place where we gather, ostensibly to share meals, of course. But the table can be so much more than simply the place where we break bread together.

For women especially, the table is a place where we connect with each other, where we open our hearts and share pieces of our lives, of our more intimate selves. We laugh, cry, grieve, rant, and build trust at the table. We form relationships. We uplift, encourage, and give grace to one another at the table.

The table was also the place where Jesus revealed to his disciples what was coming as he prepared to depart this world and rejoin his Father in heaven—the responsibility to carry on what he had begun. As always, an outpouring of grace accompanied his words.

The Glorious Table is a community blog with these truths at its heart.

Our mission is to create a place for women where all are welcome at the table—to bring their stories, their voices, their messes, their imperfections, their hearts, and where God will, in turn, fill us with his bread, his blood, his fruit.  We want to create space for women who have stories to tell, where other women can respond to those stories, and do respond because they feel welcomed and known.

Welcome to The Glorious Table. Have a seat. There’s room for you here.
